Once you have created either a general or a record-specific task, you may wish to update its description, or assign it to another user. You can update it by first clicking its title in the appropriate Tasks list.

  • Opening an existing general Task:
    • Click Tasks in the menu at the top of the SharePortals page:
    • Click the relevant task title.
  • Opening an existing task for a specific record:
    • Click the relevant menu item at the top of SharePortals for the record type (e.g. an Account in this example):
    • Click the relevant task title under Tasks in the record overview in the right hand pane:

A form will open on the page containing the task’s details.

In this example, we have completed the task and want to update the task to this effect.

We change the dropdown under Task Status from Open to Closed:

After we click Save, the task is updated and now shows as Closed in the Tasks list:
